The island's inhabitants have always been proud of their marine salt, regarded as one of the supreme "Queen of Salts".  It contains no additives or preservatives, nor does it undergo any form of refinement other than slow drying under the sun and gentle grinding in ancient stone mills, enabling SAL de IBIZA to retain its more than 80 vital minerals and trace-elements. 

The highest standards of quality and methods of sustainability are applied to their salt, along the entire length of the production chain. These begin with stringent checks of the primary material, seawater, whereby the water quality around the Pitius archipelago (Ibiza & Formentera) has been proved to be among the cleanest in the Mediterranean. About Fleur de Sel

Fleur de sel is a rare form of sea salt that is harvested in parts of the Mediterranean. It is one of those indispensable finishing touches, like fresh herbs or extra virgin olive oil, that takes an ordinary dish and turns it into a culinary experience.

Fleur de Sel is the purest of all table salts. It is obtained solely by traditional harvesting methods originating from the ancient salt makers on the French Atlantic coast. This type of salt is 100% natural. It is not altered in any way, from the moment it is gathered by hand to the time it reaches the gourmet's palate.

Natural sea-salt is not simply a compound of sodium and chlorine but also a vital element amongst a wide variety of natural minerals and trace elements essential for human health! Essentially, natural sea-salt is nothing other than dehydrated sea water. If it is left as it occurs in nature, it is identical to the salts that make up roughly 1% of our body fluids. This proportion of salt is as important for us as a constant body temperature of approximately 37° Celsius. Left untouched by any kind of refining, it retains its more than 80 essential minerals and trace elements, such as magnesium, fluoride, selenium and iodine.
